Whether you are doing a facebook post, sending out an email to your database or running paid advertising - there is one thing that you MUST DO to maximise engagement...
Introducing the "Call-to-Action".
What Is a Call-to-Action?
A call-to-action (usually abbreviated as CTA) is an image or line of text that prompts your readers and customers to take action. It is, quite literally, a "call" to take an "action."
Still not sure what I mean? Here are a few examples:
We see time and time again, Venues doing meaningless facebook posts or email blasts, creating zero engagment with their audiences and are pretty much a waste of time.
Fact - The key thing that most Venues are trying to acheive from their marketing efforts is to get more people through their doors, or more 'bums on seats'.
SO... when doing your next post, or your next email or sms blast, make sure you have a clear "CTA" to get the readers to perform an action (commit to coming down to your Venue!!).
Here are a few examples:
Not only are CTAs a great tool to create engagement with your readers, but they also provide a great way to measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns.
Every campaign you do should be measured. What I mean by this is, when you are doing a marketing push, eg pushing out a facebook post to aout your menu and trying to get peple to come to the venue to try out your amazing food, you should be able to say "from this facebook post, we got X people to come down to the venue".
If you aren't measuring this, then there is no way to improve next time! Because you dont know what you are trying to improve on!!
Having a CTA included in every post will allow you to track this information.
